Virginia Creeper - Parthenocissus quinquefolia Engelmannii
Great quality climbing plant grown by us in the nursery, in a 2L sized pot, they come tied up with a cane ready to plant.
This is a Deciduous Plant. They lose leaves in September, and have no leaves in winter. New growth begins in Spring. These plants grow very fast during the main growing season (April to August)
Can be used to cover walls, fences and will grow up conifers and hedges. It can also be used as ground cover. This is a vigorous climber with attractive foliage, especially with its fantastic autumn colours.
To ensure fiery red foliage in autumn it is best grown in light, dappled shade.
Plants are self-clinging but need some help to get started, so tie to netting or trellis at the base of a wall. Once it has filled its designated space, it can be pruned back every winter or early spring without ill effect.
